Honda S2000/Acura NSX Show-Within-A-Show

At the Arthritis Foundation's 26th Annual Classic Auto Show & Cruise-In, the Honda S2000 and Acura NSX will join the event as a Show-within-a-Show class for the second consecutive year.

The value of life can be measured by how many times your soul has been deeply stirred.
- Soichiro Honda

Mister Honda's quote is frequently used to describe the experience of driving the S2000. In 1961 Honda rolled out its first cars at the All-Japan auto show, including a roadster with a small 356cc motor. Dubbed the S360, it started the basis for Honda automobile racing and sports car development. The original diminutive roadster's motor eventually grew to 800cc in the S800. Then, for 3 decades the S-car was absent. Honda went on to win in Formula 1, CART, IRL, and countless other racing series. Finally in 1999 the S-car was reborn with a state of the art 2.0-liter motor driving a hand-built state of the art sports car. The S2000 has remained largely unchanged for seven years, save for a bump in engine displacement in 2004 to 2.2 liters.

New to the class this year is the additional of the Honda/Acrua NSX sports car. The NSX, meaning "New Sports-car experimental"," was launched in 1991. Development and tuning of this exotic coupe was done in Japan at Honda's Suzuka racetrack, including contributions from the late Ayrton Senna, two-time Formula 1 World Champion. The NSX sold under the Honda nameplate around the world, except for North America where it wears an Acura badge. Introduced in 1991, the car has lightly evolved each year. In 1997, the car's 3.0-liter V6 engine was enlarged to 3.2 liters, with a boost in horsepower to 290. The NSX is a world-class sports car by all measures. Its limited production makes them a rare sight on the road.
