Valve Cover Racing
Hey Kids! What's that you say? What the heck is valve cover racing? Well, if you want to have some fun, you'll just have to try it! If you're familiar with Hot Wheels Racing, Valve Cover Racing is very similar. It's downhill racing on inclined ramp and the first car to reach the bottom of the ramp wins. There are lots of cool prizes you will be racing for, including 75 really special T-shirts donated by Pepsi that you can win.
So what exactly is a valve cover racer? Well, a valve cover is the enclosure designed to cover an engines' valves. It resembles a canoe turned upside down. It's generally about 2 feet long and stands about 6 inches high, depending on the engine that donated the cover. So, it's not small, like a Hot Wheels Racer. You drill four holes in it, find two used push rods to put through the holes, put some wheels on it, paint it, and presto, you have a valve cover racer! The good news is you don't have to actually build one because we'll have plenty for you to use. Just pick the color you like and off you go to the races. The inclined track will be all set up and ready so you can jump right in and start racing for cool prizes.
Valve Cover Racing is a game designed for us kids, but just like most games, adults enjoy it as much as we do! So when you get to the Arthritis Foundation Auto Show, look for the Valve Cover Racing track and get ready to have some real racing fun! Just watch out that Dad doesn't push you aside for his turn at the Valve Cover Races. Pick out your racer, fasten your seat belt and get ready to race!
